Bouzouki Lessons – Bouzouki Tips (Where to Pluck)
In my previous articles I have mentioned the importance of the pick and I also have given some pointers on how to effectively use it. Here is something extra: Plucking close to the bridge will give you a sound that reminisces the rebetiko style. Plucking on top of the sound hole and a little towards the right is where most bouzouki players normally pluck. Finally plucking on top of the fretboard will give you a mellow sound.
You can use these different plucking positions in order to add an extra dimension to your playing. Some people might say that you give more color and/or feeling to your melodies.
Have fun and experiment.
