Back to School. Music Lessons this Fall
Back to School:
by Moira Burke
After a great summer, it is now back to school time! Chances are you may not have done too much practicing over the summer, but it’s time to pick up that violin and bow and get back to work! It’s an exciting new year with new songs to learn, but don’t forget about your studies!
If you haven’t practiced much over the summer, try warming up with some scales to get your fingers used to playing again. You may find that your movements are a little stiff at first, but don’t worry your muscles memory will be back in no time.
Also, do not extend your practicing time at first as this may result in a playing injury. Instead slowly work your way up to your ideal practicing time. If you would like to practice 1 hour a day, start by playing 30 minutes and then add an extra 5 minutes a day until you reach your 1 hour mark!
Good luck to you, and see you in the fall!!
