Home Recording & Demo Production

              Elite Music Academy offers small group classes in home recording  and demo production.Taught by Emilio Guim, an accomplished musician  and audio engineer, you’ll learn everything from setting up a home  studio, to recording and mixing like a pro.

Intro to Home Recording

This beginner course is a 6 week program consisting of weekly, one hour classes combining lectures and hands?on experience. You’ll learn how to assemble and acoustically treat your home studio and how to select the right microphones, cables, audio cards, monitors, and computer components. You’ll get hands on experience setting up equipment for recording different instruments, balancing your monitoring, and using recording software. On the last session you’ll put all your knowledge to the test and conduct a demo recording for a guest singer/songwriter.

Fee: $325 for 6 weeks

Demo Production

The advanced course takes an in-depth approach with the aim of giving you the necessary skills for producing your own professional sounding demos. It consists of 12 weekly, one hour classes combining lectures and hands-on workshops. You’ll master everything there is to know about audio chains, microphones, cables, acoustics theory, and how to capture the best sound for different instruments. You’ll learn all the tips and tricks of audio mixing including EQ, compression, effects, volume and panning. At the end of the course there will be an intense 4?hour workshop in which you’ll produce a demo for a guest band, from beginning to end against the clock.

Fee: $675 for 12 weeks plus 4 hour recording session
