The idea is to both teach and inspire so that the initial interest for music turns into a genuine love and lifelong appreciation of music.

Usually, a sense of accomplishment with easy to learn lessons creates the desire to play and practise music often. Many times, children are introduced to easy songs and learn it by ear. Needless to say, learning should always be fun and exciting in a relaxed environment where talent is developed gradually with no hard deadlines. If learning music is no fun, then a teacher would have missed the whole point! And unfortunately, especially in the older days, learning music was hard work; it was not inspired work… such turning a lot of young talent off…

Different songs and musical pieces are often introduced so that an appreciation of diverse musical styles can slowly grow without, however, imposing a certain style…

Music recitals are scheduled throughout the year. The idea is to set a goal that feels natural, meet, network and make friends on those special showcase nights. Small victories in terms of learning and performing a piece in front of an audience can sustain the interest of a child while developing confidence, musicianship and the passion for music.

On that note and recognizing the importance of such events, Elite Music Academy has already scheduled a number of mini recitals, or student showcases at some great venues such as the Alumnae and Bad Dog Theatre.

Last but not least, Elite Music has developed one of the city`s greatest summer music camps for children and youth 10-17: namely the Toronto Music Camp. Here, music is learned , played, recorded and performed weekly in a band setting environment! Thus, youth have a unique opportunity to live the experience and get the spotlight under the guidance of some of Toronto`s most amazing musicians. It is a great way to get inspired and develop that passion for music that we mentioned earlier…
