Jay Clipperton (Piano/Vocals)

Jay Clipperton is an eclectic young composer, vocalist and avid pianist based out of Toronto, Ontario. He graduated from York University with a bachelor of fine arts with honors with a specialty in jazz piano and a heavy leaning towards composition.

Jay began teaching music in 2004, with a multi-genre approach allowing students of all ages to pursue the music that inspires them most. Throughout his teaching career he has taught song-writing clinics, coached teenage rock bands, helped run several music camps and taken the helm of the York University a cappella ensemble Wibi as their artistic director.

While performing with Wibi Jay had the opportunity to open for Juno nominated vocal group Cadence and the widely acclaimed musician Ben Folds. He currently performs regularly with Toronto’s newest a cappella sensation Countermeasure. His recent performance highlights include: singing for the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, the opening ceremonies for the Queen’s Plate, and participating in the 2011 beaches jazz festival

In addition to his singing performances, Jay also provides music for weddings, accompanies soloists and examinations and pursues the compositional side of music on a regular basis.
