Mandy Ebel (Piano/Vocals/Music Theory/Song-Writing)
Mandy Ebel’s main forte is her wide range of Vocal Styles that she teaches with her artistic precision and confidence. She is an active professional Studio Vocal Coach and Voice Developer. Mandy has a lot of experience working with young “artists” working on developing their professional sound, vocally building their dynamics and song repertoire. Mandy also teaches Basic to Moderate Level Piano Students. She teaches Chords, Jazz, Classical, Note and Music Reading & Basic Piano. She is also available for Music Theory tutoring, as well as teaching any General Music Concepts. Last but not least, Mandy Ebel is a talented Song-writer, and Music Producer offering instruction on Songwriting, Arrangement and Development.
Mandy Ebel completed the Contemporary Music and Technology Program at Selkirk College, in Nelson, BC, Canada. She received both a Vocal Performance Diploma, as well as Music Production and Engineering Diploma. She also took Composition as an elective during the course of her school. Mandy also recently went to India and Studied Indian Classical Music, and Vocal Stylings. She is excited to share some of this with any students who is interested in such a unique, intricate style. Mandy also started playing piano at the age of 5 and has completed 10 years of Classical Piano, from the Royal Conservatory of Music, and furthered her Piano education at College extending her Jazz Chord Knowledge and other Piano Styles.
Mandy Ebel is a National Award Winning Singer/Songwriter, and in 2008 she received CTV Globals first, “Fred Sherrat Award” in 2008, which recognized only 11 outstanding music graduates in all of Canada, with Mandy Ebel being one of them. This award was put together and presented by MusiCan and CARAS ( Canadian Association of Recording Arts and Sciences). Mandy has also won awards from Mike Pinder’s International SONGWARS Contest as well as Honourable Mention in Bill-Board’s International Song-Writing Competition. Currently Mandy is an active Teacher as well as, Performer, Song-writer, Producer, and Engineer for both her Solo project, and for her Electronic “Duo” that she is in. The Duo is called “Hawri ‘n’ Mandy”- perform a melange of styles between Electronica, World Music, Soul, Trip-Hop, Dubstep, Big Beat and more! “Hawri ‘n’ Mandy’s” project is truly unique, with Hawri as a talented Synth Programmer, Co-Producer, Mandy Ebel lays her soulful vintage jazz infused tone over top.
Teaching Style
The focus is on you! Mandy teaches WHAT YOU WANT to learn, emphasizing the importance of proper techniques within all of her classes. Whether it is casual , just “beginners” singing lessons, or “intense, advanced training,” Mandy loves to put her all into teaching what YOU want to learn. Vocal students learn the base of all singing : USING the DIAPHRAGM, Voice tone placement, Style Development, Recording Techniques, Performing Techniques, getting rid of Vocal Strain and getting singing “out of the throat”, starting with proper breath support in a clear and understandable way. Having fun is a must!
