Sebastian Buccioni (Piano)
Spending his childhood divided between North America and Europe, Sebastian is accustomed to integrating many divergent influences. A formally trained jazz player with a classical background combined with a love of house, R & B and electronic music, Sebastian’s musical influences are diverse and have imparted him with a unique sense of melody and harmonic texture. In his playing this predominantly manifests itself as soaring synthesizer leads over top of luxurious chordal textures and aggressive rhythmic stabs. Sebastian achieves his sound with a wide range of vintage and modern synthesizers, keyboards and effects. In his rapidly expanding arsenal of keyboards Sebastian prefers anything with that analog bite and a little bit of dust. He draws heavily from groove masters the likes of Herbie Hancock, Jamie Shields and Toby Smith.
Sebastian has been teaching for over six years. His student centered teaching style focuses on the musical interests of the student rather than a predetermined teaching programme. After all learning music should be about having fun and enjoying what you are learning. Each student receives a individualized learning plan that will develop at their own pace. In this way student can achieve their own highest potential. Sebastian’s students have achieved great success on their examinations, including highest mark in the province.
